Oklahoma’s energy production comes from many sources, including natural gas, coal, and wind. In 2018, Oklahoma’s net generation from all energy sources was the 18th highest in the nation after increasing 13.8% between 2017 and 2018. The energy source with the largest increase in net generation between 2017 and 2018 was solar photovoltaic, which is a technology that produces electricity directly from sunlight by using semiconductors.
