Visualizing Oklahoma: Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund Solvency

February 03, 2020

Oklahoma's unemployment insurance trust fund solvency rate is 1.71, which is the eighth highest in the nation. Solvency values greater than 1.00 (Reserve Ratio divided by Average Benefit Cost Rate) are considered adequate by the U.S. Department of Labor should a state go into a recession. This means Oklahoma has an excess of around $446 million above the adequate solvency level in its unemployment insurance trust fund.
